What’s a Doula?!?

I have been asked this question countless times since I started this journey, so I thought it would be a good place to start. A doula provides continuous emotional, physical and informational support to women and their partners before, during and immediately after the birth of their child. So what does that mean? It means that I will meet with you at whatever point in your pregnancy you decide to contact me and discuss everything you are excited and concerned about regarding your baby coming into the world. From this starting point I will be with you every step of the way to help to ease your fears however I can and to help you plan how you would like your birth to go and to do everything in my power to help you achieve that goal as comfortably and happily as possible…and when things don’t go exactly as planned I will still be by your side to help you get the information that you need to make the best decision for you and your baby. Once your baby is nestled happily in your arms I will help you with your little ones first feeding and ensure your family is settling in with newest member and that all of you have your needs met. One to two weeks after you welcome your baby I will meet with you again to chat about your birth and help with any feeding or baby care that you may need an extra hand with…and of course get a chance to see your sweet baby.

Do you have further questions about what a doula can do for you? Reply or get in touch with me and I will let you know how I can help you.

I’ve read a lot about Placenta Encapsulation, I know it’s a service offered through a doula. I’m in Grays Harbor, WA, and don’t know who offers the service on this side of the state. Do you offer Placenta Encapsulation services? 🙂 I’m a first time mom, 32weeks. 🙂
